Meet the Artist
Aarón Raigosa
Brunswick, Maine
The Gift
Aaron Raigosa was born in Palencia, Spain, and began showing his artistic gift at the tender age of 3 when he began producing works prolifically using paint media. He spent his boyhood between Colombia and Spain. Prior to moving to the United States with his mother, he studied visual arts for three years at a school for art in Spain. At the time he was commissioned to create Maine Evergreen Moose by Alec & Julie Rogers to commemorate the Maine Evergreen Hotel, Aaron was 12 years old and in 7th grade at Cony High School, living in Maine’s capital city, Augusta. Fascinated with dinosaurs as a young boy, Aaron had never even heard of or seen a moose prior to living in Maine, and he was captivated by this majestic icon of Maine’s wilderness. Aaron enjoys using a variety of media such as acrylics, paint pens, and his favorite, charcoal. He works on canvas, wood panels, and paper.
